Hawthorn's Community Wheelchair Football League (CWFL) and Victorian Wheelchair Football League (VWFL) teams both endured losses on Sunday against St Kilda at the State Netball Hockey Centre.

In the VWFL, the Saints got over the line by 126 points in what was a clinical performance from start to finish.

There were some positives for the Hawks though, with reigning best and fairest winner Yassin Hill returning to the team and getting on the scoreboard.

It was a much tighter contest in the CWFL, with the Saints winning by 26 points.

Following a slow start in which the Hawks had scored just three goals up until three-quarter time, they surged in the final quarter to score five majors to two, nearly pulling off a miraculous comeback.

David Ralph was the star of the day with seven majors, taking his season tally up to nine for the season and ranking in the league's top five.

Robbie Deverell was the other contributor on the scoreboard with one goal.

The Hawks are now set for a road trip for their next set of matches on Sunday, facing Collingwood at Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium.

The CWFL team is in action from 12pm while the VWFL action gets underway at 1pm.
