Shane Crawford, Luke Hodge, Jason Dunstall and John Kennedy Jnr have visited Hawthorn's new home, the Kennedy Community Centre.
Hear what the former greats had to say after seeing the world-class facility:
SHANE CRAWFORD
“It’s incredible, what a wonderful space. We’re going to have a lot of success here.
"I’m jealous, I wish I was playing and starting my career, especially at the new facility like we have. We have got great history, but it is a new beginning for the Hawks."
JASON DUNSTALL
“In my time we were at Glenferrie, then we made the move form Glenferrie to Waverley, which was massive, but this is just exponentially up again – it’s over the top.
"So many other clubs have had new facilities in that time and we’re going to be the leader of the pack again, which is fantastic.
"I just can’t get over the size of this place, it’s enormous. When it is all done, I look forward to coming back and seeing what it looks like."
LUKE HODGE
“Just walking through there and learning about where everything is, the players, staff, everyone who come to work every day are going to be that excited about it. The excitement that we got when we moved to Waverley, this is going to be on another level coming out here to Dingley.
"Glenferrie Oval was so good for the Hawthorn Football Club for a period of time, then it got to a stage when we outgrew it and we needed to go somewhere bigger, and that’s why Waverley was so important. Now the Hawks have grown to that next phase of coming out to here, which has got everything. The massive offices, the pools, the gyms – everything is that next level and I guess it is the peak of what you want it to be at a professional facility.
"After speaking to Sam, the coaches are keen, the players are keen, the staff are all keen to make the move out here."
JOHN KENNEDY JNR
“If Dad was around here today, he would be unbelievable impressed with what he’d see, and the honour that has been bestowed upon him, in naming it after him, he’d be really humbled by that.
“When people come out here and see what’s here it will bring people here, and the ability to park with ease, family days will be energised.
"I reckon it’s pretty important for the supporters to be involved in the success of this football club, not just now, but for generations to come. I think it is just a great move and let’s hope the football team can emulate on what is happening out here at Dingley."
