December was another busy month in the construction of the Kennedy Community Centre, as the club pauses its works during the Christmas/New Year break.

In the past month, turf has finishing being laid on both training ovals. This is a significant milestone and has brought the facility to life with the added green spaces.

While the majority of structural steel has been erected throughout the Harris High Performance Centre, this is now taking shape in the AFLW Oval and Community pavilion. We anticipate this will be complete by Christmas.

Amid the busy construction, we were fortunate to welcome four special guests on site last month, with Shane Crawford, Luke Hodge, Jason Dunstall and John Kennedy Jnr taking the time to visit, alongside our current AFL Senior Coach Sam Mitchell, and newly appointed Capital Campaign Executive Gary Ayres.

One of the best things about the Kennedy Community Centre is that it will be a home for the entire Hawthorn family, including our past champions. From all reports, the new facility was given the tick of approval and they all can’t wait to visit again once complete next year.
