TRIPLE premiership stars David Hale and Brian Lake have announced their retirements from AFL football.
Both will go out on a high, after playing in the Hawks’ premiership three-peat in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Ruckman Hale, 31, played 237 career matches.
He was recruited by North Melbourne with pick seven in the 2001 AFL Draft.

Hale played 129 matches with the Kangaroos, before joining the Hawks prior to the 2011 season.
He played a further 108 matches with Hawthorn, 86 of which were victories.
Hale’s distinguished career includes 21 finals appearances, including four grand finals.
Key defender Lake has played three years at Hawthorn for three premierships.
The 33-year-old played 251 career matches, 197 at Western Bulldogs and 54 with the Hawks.

Recruited by the Bulldogs with pick 71 in the 2001 AFL Draft, Lake is a dual All Australian and won the Norm Smith Medal in the 2013 AFL Grand Final.
Both Hale and Lake spoke to the media at the Ricoh Centre at 10.30am today.
