HAWTHORN Coach Michael Voss says there will be no surprises from Hawthorn when his side takes on the ladder-leaders at Aurora Stadium on Sunday.
The Hawks have won 11 games in a row and are in good form heading into the clash, coming off an impressive 20-point win over West Coast last Friday night.
Voss believes he and his side know what to expect from the Hawks, who have shown over the past three seasons they are well coached and well prepared for each game and each opposition.
“There’ll be no surprises from Hawthorn’s end – they’ll be well coached and well prepared,” he told Brisbane media on Tuesday.
“They’re professional players who are playing very well, they’re a good football team and we understand how potent they are up front.
“We have a big task on our hands.”
The Lions are too gaining momentum after an impressive come-from-behind win over Geelong on Sunday.
The Lions trailed by 52 points during the third quarter of that game, but stormed home to kick eight goals to one in a thrilling final quarter.
Voss’ side is on a high, and the coach knows it’s a challenge to ground his players and prepare them for another tough battle against Hawthorn.
“It’s about reviewing the game appropriately and then a chance to get in lock down mode and prepare ourselves for our opposition who will bring intensity about them and who have good weapons,” he said.
“It’s going to take a real group effort to go down there as a group and try and get away with a win.”
