Lachlan Bramble is set to become the seventh Hawk to live his AFL debut dream in season 2021.

Bramble will tonight be named in the squad set to take on the Bombers in Round 14 – just three months after joining the Hawks’ list via the pre-season supplementary selection period.

A talented midfielder boasting impressive footy IQ and strong skills on both sides of his body, Bramble caught the attention of Hawthorn recruiters while training with the Box Hill Hawks over the summer.

Despite some minor injury niggles marring his first few months in the AFL system, Bramble has shown rapid development while working his way towards a senior call up.

The debutant was elated after receiving the news.

“It’s been a crazy couple of hours since Clarko gave me the news while I was having lunch,” Bramble said.

“I’m over the moon and can’t wait to get out there on Sunday.”

Bramble was one of the standout performers in Hawthorn’s reserves scrimmage on the Sunday, with the 23-year-old leading his teammates in score involvements.

“I’m a hard-running outside mid that can go inside as well,” Bramble said, when asked to describe the type of player he is.

“Good with ball in hand and will look to use my skills.”

Bramble will head down to Launceston on Sunday with the team, ready for his first taste of the AFL stage, as the Hawks take on the Bombers at 3.20pm at UTAS Stadium.
