Luke Breust

Luke Breust had arguably the best game of his career the last time these two sides met in Round 16 last year. Breust burst out of the blocks in the opening term, booting four goals in an electric start. The two-time All Australian finished with six goals to his name, along with 24 disposals, eight marks and seven tackles. The trio of Breust, Jarryd Roughead and Jack Gunston combined for 14 goals between them on the night. If the Hawks are to get that level of production from their three-pronged attack again on Sunday, they will be hard to beat.

James Sicily

Speaking of career-best form, James Sicily’s performance in the club’s season opener last week was nothing short of extraordinary. Sicily recorded an amazing 15 rebound 50s against the Crows, eight more than the next most on the ground. The numbers suggest further proof of the 24-year-old’s growing comfort at the defensive end. The Dogs will be hopeful they can keep the ball out of the damaging hands of the Hawks number six.

Jarman Impey

As he celebrated his 100th game against Adelaide, Jarman Impey produced one of his best games in the brown and gold. Impey was a rock in defence for the Hawks, cutting off numerous Crows entries as well as providing some penetrating rebounds for the Hawks. The 23-year-old looks to have grown in confidence over the summer and could emerge as another weapon from the Hawks back half in 2019.

Easton Wood

Tasked with one of the most unenviable jobs in football last week, Easton Wood inspired his side to a Round 1 win after he did an exceptional job on Sydney’s Lance Franklin. Franklin was relatively unimpactful against his usual lofty standards, as Wood shut the champion forward out of the game. The Dogs skipper will again have his work cut out this Sunday with a likely match-up against Jarryd Roughead or Jack Gunston.

Jack Macrae

One of the best accumulator’s in the competition, only Tom Mitchell averaged more disposals than Jack Macrae in 2018. The hard-running midfielder is one of the Dogs’ key weapons with his piercing left-foot so often setting up attacking forays for his side. Macrae also has the ability to hit the scoreboard when resting forward. The 24-year-old is definitely one to watch on Sunday.
